Prior to ADWI Assessment in 2022, Regent of Camp Sinjai in Katinroang Bissua, Pattiroang Highland Barania

 Sinjai regent Andi Seto Asapa (ASA) and the people of Baraniya village in West Sinjai district set up camp at Pattiroang Highland Camping on Sunday (August 28, 2022).

As you know, the Pattiroang Plateau is one of the new tourist attractions of the Sinjai regency, which is administered by the government of the village of Baraniya. Pattiroang Highland was specially chosen as a camping site to introduce to a wider audience.

In addition to the ASA regent, the camp was attended by Dandim 1424 and the president of the Syndia DPRD, including high-ranking officials in the Sinjai regent government. The event was well received by the locals and they even participated in the bivouac, setting up their own tents.

This camp was also organized by Regent of ASA to show the willingness of the Baraniya village government to participate in the visit to the Indonesian Tourism Village (ADWI) in September. According to the plan, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Meparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and his team will directly participate in the assessment.

“We had a meeting earlier and discussed our readiness to undergo a face-to-face assessment by the regent,” said Sinjay Yuhadi Samad, head of the Tourism and Culture Authority. The meeting was attended by Dandim 1424, the chairman of the DPRD, government officials of the Sinjai Government, including the head of the Western Sinjai district and the leader of the village of Barania.

Regarding the ASA Regent program, in addition to camping, Yuhadi said he will also plant coffee and pine trees in Baraniya village, West Sinjai district. He will then visit the Thousand Agro Maddacco Points site and see the community services in person at the Village and Pustu offices.

In addition, the ASA regent will also visit the Forge, Salu Birayah Waterfall and Kampung Galung, as well as some families and representatives of the creative economy in Baraniya village. Mr. Yuhadi concluded: “The regent will make a series of visits to find out how the village of Baraniya has prepared to participate in the ADWI assessment,” concluded Yuhadi.

Previously, the village of Baraniya in West Sinjai district was one of the top 50 tourist villages in the ADWI 2022 event. 3,419 villages from 34 provinces of Indonesia participated in the event.
